Konnektid takes your privacy very seriously and treats all your personal information with great care. In order to guarantee your privacy, Konnektid always acts in accordance with the Dutch Data Protection Act.
This document sets out Konnektid’s Privacy Statement. It is recommended that you read this Privacy Statement carefully. The capitalized words are defined in this Privacy Statement and in the User Terms.
1. Who is Konnektid?
Konnektid B.V. is a company with limited liability, having its registered office in Amsterdam and place of business in (1016 BR) Amsterdam, the Netherlands, at Herengracht 182. The manner in which your personal data are used has been reported to the Dutch Data Protection Authority under registration number: [FILL IN].
Konnektid has developed a Platform, called Konnektid, which enables teachers and students to connect in order to share their (professional) skills (i.a. playing an instrument or to practice a computer program) and knowledge. Konnektid matches teachers and students online for offline courses close to home.
2. What information does Konnektid collect and process?
In order to make use of the Service, it is necessary to create a personal Account. When you create an Account, you are required to enter certain information about yourself. The following information is obligatory:
- First and last name;
- Email address;
Your Account details are not visible to third parties, except for your first name and skills.
By using the Service you make certain information available to your profile, such as your name, approximate location, skills and “about you-information” (“Content”). If you like, you can also add other information to your profile, such as your hobbies or education history. This information could include personal data. Your Content is only visible to other users. You are at all times free to modify or delete your Content.
In order to make use of the Service as a professional teacher, it is necessary to create a teacher account (“Teacher Account”). When you create a Teacher Account, you are required to enter certain additional information about yourself. The following additional information is obligatory:
- Phone number;
- Diplomas and/or certificates.
Your Teacher Account details are visible to other users and third parties, as well as the Content you provide by using the Service as a professional teacher.
In order to handle your payment Konnektid offers you the following payment options:
- Credit card;
Konnektid asks for your payment details in order to process your payment. The requested information will depend on the payment option you have chosen. This information may include your name, account number or credit card number. Konnektid uses this information solely to process your payment.
Link to social media and other third party services
You may choose to link your Account to your social media accounts, such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and/or Google+. In case you link your Account to these social media accounts, Konnektid collects general information, such as your name, email address, location and skills from your social media profile.
For the use of social media and third party services you are bound by the conditions for use of these services. Konnektid cannot influence such third parties and thus cannot guarantee that these third party services use your personal data in accordance with the applicable privacy law- and regulations.
Automatically generated data
Konnektid requires certain information in order for the Service to work as optimally as possible (for example, to display Content correctly and to keep the Service secure). That is why Konnektid automatically collects generated data about your use of the Service. This information consists of your IP address (an unique number, which makes it possible to recognize your device) and your location.
In so far as Konnektid uses this information, the data is not connected to your name or other personal data.
When using the Service, various cookies are saved on your computer and/or mobile device and/or tablet (“Peripherals”), which can then be accessed. Cookies are small pieces of information (in the form of text) that a server sends to the browser (such as Internet Explorer or Firefox) with the intention that the browser sends this information back to the server the next time a user makes use of the Service. Cookies of Konnektid cannot damage your Peripherals or the files saved on it.
First party cookies
When you use the Service, first party cookies are saved on your Peripherals. First party cookies are made by or for Konnektid and are stored on your Peripherals by Konnektid and only Konnektid has access to these cookies. Such cookies are used by Konnektid, for example, to remember your login information and your settings.
Third party cookies
Konnektid uses analytical cookies in order to collect statistics about the use and visits of the Website. With these analytical cookies a permanent cookie is saved on your Peripherals to register your use of the Website. A third party analyzes this data about the Website and provides Konnektid with the results. This way, Konnektid obtains insight into the traffic of the Website and the way in which the Website is used. Based on this information Konnektid is able to make adjustments to the Website or its Service.
By using the Website you can get access to social media websites. Using these so called social plug-ins you can login to your Account through your social media profile and subsequently share information from the Website with others. With these social plug-ins third party cookies are saved on your Peripherals. These cookies serve the purpose of optimizing your user experience.
Konnektid uses tracking cookies in order to track your internet browsing behavior and collect data and information on your browsing behavior from various websites you visited. This information is used to make the content of the displayed advertisements as relevant as possible, and to limit repetition of the same advertisements.
You can configure your browser so that you do not receive any cookies the next time you use the Service. However, it is possible that you will no longer be able to make full use of the Service.
4. For what purposes will Konnektid use information about you?
Konnektid may use your personal information for the following purposes:
- To provide the Service and to allow you to use the Service;
- To allow your Content to be viewed by other users in relation to the Service;
- To communicate with you about the Service;
- To configure the Service to your wishes and needs;
- For protection purposes;
- To generate statistical data and to use this data for research purposes.
Konnektid whishes to inform you on the developments of its Service. Therefore, if there is a change or an update to the Service, Konnektid will inform you thereof. Also Konnektid will inform you on its promotions and other news. If you do not wish to receive emails of Konnektid, you can opt-out in your Account. Also an opt-out option is provided in every email that Konnektid sends you.
Use by third parties
Konnektid will not provide your personal data to third parties for commercial purposes, unless you have given your explicit consent to do so. Konnektid will only provide your personal data to third parties if it is obliged to do so on account of national or international laws, case law and/or regulations, if Konnektid considers it necessary to do so in defense of its own rights, if this is necessary for (the improvement of) providing the Service to you or if you have given permission to do so.
The Website may contain hyperlinks which take you away from the Konnektid environment and to the website or application of a third party. Konnektid has no authority over the services and/or websites of third parties to which is linked. It therefore may be the case that for the use of those services and/or websites of third parties another privacy statement is applicable. This Privacy Statement is exclusively applicable to the personal data that is obtained trough the Service of Konnektid. Konnektid does not accept any responsibility or liability for the (use and/or content of the) services and/or websites of third parties.
5. How does Konnektid protect your personal information?
Konnektid takes appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your (personal) information against loss or any form of unlawful use.
6. Viewing, changing and deleting your data
If you wish to know what information Konnektid has collected about you or if you wish to change data that you cannot change yourself in your Account, then you can send a request for information on your personal data to: email@example.com. Konnektid will respond to your request within 4 weeks.
If you then wish to correct, add, remove or screen your personal data, you may send another request thereto. Konnektid shall respond within 4 weeks to such a request. If Konnektid decides to deny your request, it shall inform you on the grounds of this decision.
Konnektid will retain your personal data as long as your Account is active or as needed to provide the Service to you, to resolve disputes, enforce agreements or comply with any legal obligations. If you wish to terminate your Account, you can do so through your personal settings. In order to safeguard the integrity of the data in our database, Konnektid will freeze your Account up to three months after termination. Konnektid will subsequently delete all your personal data, as well as the Content you have made available through the use of the Service insofar as possible without disrupting the ability to provide the Service.
7. Can this Privacy Statement be changed?
It is possible for the Privacy Statement to be amended in the future. That would then be mentioned on this page www.konnektid.com, so it is recommended to regularly have a look at this page.
